The Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore is Maryland’s second largest casino. The multimillion-dollar facility features table games, video lottery terminals, food outlets, three premier restaurants and several bars and lounges. The Casino utilizes raised access floors throughout their facility, so it was the obvious choice for their 2019 addition of a 10,000-square-foot outdoor gaming area called The Terrace.
The Terrace features 174 slot machines, 16 live table games, 15 video poker machines and a patio bar, all sitting atop Tate Access Floors, and all outdoors. The new gaming area is built over the casino’s porte cochere on the building’s existing roof membrane and utilizes Bison pedestals for support. The Terrace will be open year-round with heating and cooling services in place for customer comfort.
Using our STONEWORKS® Outdoor Panels, we were able to provide the same flexibility of our indoor raised access floors and underfloor service distribution, while maintaining the strength and durability required of outdoor flooring. Plus, with a complete range of decorative STONEWORKS styles and colors to choose from, the Casino did not have to sacrifice the design aesthetic they were aiming for on The Terrace.
By continuing their raised access floors from the indoor gaming area to the outdoor Terrace, Horseshoe Casino was able to replicate their indoor underfloor service distribution outside. This is an important feature for casinos that need easy access to power and the ability to rearrange game layouts often to keep up with trends and technology upgrades.
